Kinja'd!!!

Saw one of these out in the wild for the first time today. No SR20 because I was in awe, and also because I was driving. But still, it was done up just like this one.

Then a couple of hours later some dudes studying at Starbucks started talking about Raptors. My ears perked up so I asked them about it. They looked at me funny when I said "hooning." Sigh. :-( #OppoProblems LOL.

Maybe they were talking about Velociraptors

Kinja'd!!!

Or maybe they were talking about the bird type raptors.

I work at a Ford dealer.

I have driven Raptors, albeit not much.

I still do a head whip every time I see one.

It was damn pretty! I was in a rush trying to meet some folks for lunch when the HUGE Ford grille caught the corner of my eye. I totally did the jaw-dropped, slow-mo head turn. Lol.

Both would also be acceptable alternatives. I'm a fan. ^_^

I took one home one night from work. Had to resist the urge to park it on the curb.

Also, did you say raptor of the bird variety? Here's a shot I took of an osprey, one of my favorite birds of prey. ^_^

That's right, you work for the Blue Oval too. I would have parked on the curb just because.

Nice! They're pretty prevalent in my area because I live near a river and a pretty large lake. Also, what happened to the CAH games?

You'd think I'd see more of them around here since this is Texas and we like everything to be bigger and better here, but nope. Only more mundane F-150s. C'est la vie, I guess.

I didn't, but if I were to take it home this time of year I WOULD park it on a snowbank in front of my house.

They're mostly seasonal visitors around here, and yeah, found around rivers and other bodies of water. I actually shot this one from a riverboat. It had just finished eating a kill, but I don't have that photo on my phone. They're also interesting because they pretty much mate for life. My absolute fave are peregrine falcons, though. They're a bit more rare 'round these parts.

As for CAH... The servers were borked for a couple of weeks. They kept crashing. Now only one's back up, and it's not very reliable at all. Pete tried to start a game last night and it didn't work very well. But, some of us still get together on IRC to chat, at least. If you'd like to join, you're more than welcome. Kiwiirc.com/client The room is #oppocah. We're usually around at night around the same time the games used to be on. ^_^

Yeah, they're pretty interesting to watch and most have the same nests year after year too I'd like to think.

Ok, I've been busy which is why I haven't been around lately but if I've got time I'll try to get into the chat at some point.

Yup! They do reuse nesting sites. It's because of that that some folks around here try to lure them into nesting near them by putting up suitable poles. If you can get a young pair to build a nest on one, they'll keep coming back every season. Kinda nice having your own live Animal Planet stuff happening in your own backyard. And who doesn't love baby birds? ^_^

Birds are some very interesting creatures, especially the birds of prey. I'm eagerly awaiting spring and summer to return so the wildlife will begin to come back. It gets lonely with not many birds around in the Northern winter.

Ha! I love birds, too! A lot of them are hanging out around where I live. This area is smack dab in the middle of two major migratory paths. A lot of birds that don't keep going on to Central or South America end up wintering here. I'll tell 'em you say hello. ^_^

Speaking of blue oval, I went to do something on my ST, had my camera and all that for an Oppo writeup, and the drill bit was too big for the damn drill collet.

I'm in love with the extended cab ones like this. Cannot into the crew cabs for some reason. I'd like to find a stripper model/ex-gov one someday, as some of them came with column shifters rather than the console shifter which I think looks stupid.

I think I've seen 5 of them so far, 3 of them in the wild. 2 in France! These were probably not thinking of the best place to have a Raptor. Both were black, one had a French licence plate I believe and the other was Swiss. Third one I saw was just after landing in Auckland, and it was right hand drive.

The two I didn't saw driving were at the Paris Motorshow back in October, and they were exposed by an importer. They also had a few RAMs EcoDiesel trucks as well as Challenger SRT8 and a Ford GT.

And soon I shall be in bed!
